For sure there are better quarterbacks in the NFL than the current Denver Broncos starter, but none is as adept at getting press and social media attention than the guy whose initials are : TB.

Timothy Richard "Tim" Tebow ( /ˈtiːboʊ/; born August 14, 1987) is an American football player who is currently the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Broncos as the 25th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and played college football at Florida. More from his bio below :

"Tebow played quarterback for Nease High School in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and was ranked among the top quarterback prospects in the nation as a high school senior. He ultimately chose to attend the University of Florida. As a backup to starter Chris Leak and a key situational contributor, Tebow helped the Gators win the national championship during the 2006 college football season. Tebow was the Gators' starting quarterback during the 2007 season and became the first college football player to both rush and pass for 20 or more touchdowns in a single season. Consequently, he became the first college sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy. The builder of some of the most spectacular floats in the Tournament of Roses for decades, Bill Lofthouse was 68 years old when he died in 2008 of pancreatic cancer. "Lofthouse pushed float design into movement and sound, and his creations grew bigger and flashier each year. Remember a giant float . . . that changed from a robot to a spaceship that blasted fiery exhaust? Bill Lofthouse's Phoenix Decorating built it, and won the parade's Innovation Award."

That award's been given out for only the last four years. Guess who's won it every time? Phoenix Decorating won 11 out of 24 awards this year, proving the lasting Lofthouse legacy and eye for timeless float design, too.

Bill Lofthouse used to say that 50 years ago. He followed a pretty girl into the shed where float builder and designer Isabella Coleman assembled her masterpieces.

He ended up with the girl, Gretchen, who married him, and with a job when Coleman hired him. Bill Lofthouse eventually became the most successful float builder in the Tournament of Roses. For five years now, his son Chris has run Phoenix Decorating. So a fella named Lofthouse still builds more floats, and more spectacular floats, than anyone else. 99 ways you probably won’t win this contest, but you can try, right?: They say that one has a better chance of being struck by lightening than to win the Lottery. Well, here is a contest that perhaps has longer odds than that.

Earlier today, I posted this clip and then deleted it while I conducted more research which still confirms my earlier bewilderment about this offering. I know why these sponsors are conducting this sweepstakes, but I have a hard time understanding why anyone would seriously consider the GRAND PRIZE opportunity contained herein. Read the full details and ask:

What are the chances Downtown Los Angeles will record a precise temperature of 99 degrees on 10/31/10, the basic requirement for contestants to become eligible for the GRAND PRIZE? I have searched unsuccessfully for the true odds of that happening and the closest confirming data I can find is at http://bit.ly/cAv2YI where the record shows that the mean daily temperature in October for LA is 68.6, trending toward 61.8 for the month of November. I doubt if there has ever been an October 31 date with an LA temp even close to 99? If that has happened, then I would like someone to confirm the data and I will eat this post.

Despite the odds, thousands around LA LA Land will probably enter this sweeps, confounding the statisticians and the weather man and proving that optimism always trumps reality.
